I like it here much better ... no personal attacks, no drama ... just good friendly conversations. ;D POSITIVE ENERGY, POSITIVE ENERGY ... we need more of it in the world. True!! I can post and not get to see the thread get hi-jacked with crazy stuff! Some people seriously need medication for there delusions.

Is it 'safe' over here? Yes it is. Post 1801 page 121 TheNew WC-AKA Wives Club did it for me. Now he is listing names. I haven't been interacting with him and he just keeps putting my name out there. Done.

I think the guys in white coats need to visit Tucson--they have a customer!! I TOTALLY agree! I'm much happier with our little world over here. While at times its entertaining, seeing so many opposed to his thoughts and rants; but most of the time, its just SAD.

I'll just take this little community we have built here we tend not to attack one another.

So everyone knows. I didn't get banned for not getting along with people. I got banned from the other forum because I posted about the San Antonio trip. That is why I got banned.

I made an innocent post yesterday on other site ... just asking if anyone was interested in going to the National Corvette Homecoming ... today, my post is gone. WOW. Its so sad that they administer that site that way - not notice, no explanation, just DELETE. I don't appear to be "banned", but obviously they don't like my posts. I'm curious how accurate the 5K membership number is - and how many true XLR owners there are in that number.

I got banned for just posting one time. I'm surprised you didn't get banned.

I'll make another post - just playing dumb, saying that I guess I didn't post my request properly. I'll keep at it until they actually BAN me... then I'll know what you guys already know ... that thats how they administer their site - through censorship.

Yes it is why they work that site. You also get banned for guilt by association. They banned Kevin because he is my husband. Kevin got banned and didn't post a thing. I got banned and they banned Cubby right with me.

Well --- I have not got the "hang" of how to post and read these threads on this forum yet ... but, I'll learn ... Yes Dave .... censorship is EXACTLY why the banning began ... There are ways to go to some of the older threads and read 'sort of' what went on - I really can't remember the details too clearly anymore .... but one morning I woke up and a box appeared that said that I was banned forever from their site. I had wrote a post stating that I had found another forum for XLR's .... Things quickly went downhill from there ... it was bam-bam-bam, EVERYONE eventually got banned that had been 'active' on the forum - since I was banned, I didn't even know that everyone else was also .. all for one dumb reason or another .... One moderator was at the root. All of the others had quit. Probably, if you are really curious, you could take a look at the first posts from the same group on the XLRnet forum that are still active .... heck, maybe I will .... should make for some interesting reading! Yes - you will be in BIG trouble if you post an invitation to an event that they do not sanction and in bigger trouble if you tell them that there are other XLR forums ..... Again ... censorship. That's why Rob's forum has survived - he knows enough about what a good forum really is ... And none of this is a "secret" or a mystery .... we just put it into the past and forgot about it .... I don't have a clue why Speedway kept trying to stir up old memories. All of the people who wanted to remain together came together - and still are.

Wow, I didn't know there was so much drama. I just thought it was more of a technical - parts, manuals, service procedures, etc. kinda site as apposed to the funloving, joking, lighthearted site that Rob maintains. I realized right away when I signed up back in May that there's not 1/10 the postings there as there were on Rob's, but figured the cars are out of production so maybe most "technical" questions had already been asked and answered. I appreciate the site for its repository of information, but it's pretty dull otherwise.
And to think I almost opened this can of worms when I asked someone with a higher post count than I to post an invite to the Homecoming because I didn't want to look like a spammer. Dave, if you post, I'll reply and we can see if they both get deleted.
I do remember DDTier was over there first and I don't remember if it was an open post or a PM I sent him inviting Dave and Diane to Effingham (just checked - open post). Guess I was just lucky.

Yes .... and one of the biggest mistakes was banning Bruce ... or maybe he quit .... I can't remember ..... but he was the biggest supporter and wealth of information that the forum had in respect to the the XLR. The guy shot himself and his forum in the foot. But - it's been a great move over - we've met many new members and remained friends - some people don't even own an XLR anymore .... It all just started with a love for the same car and here we are ....
