I hope you can join us on our trip to Charleston,SC, April 9-17.
Here is what I'm thinking about for our trip...
Saturday, caravan down to Asheville,NC.
Sunday, tour Biltmore Estate & grounds.
Monday, drive down to Charleston,SC.
Tuesday thru Friday, seeing the sights in Charleston, visit the plantations, Patriot's Point, Fort Sumter & SC Aquarium. We could even take a drive down to Beaufort, Hilton Head or Savannah,GA. for the day.
Saturday or Sunday, head for home.
Everyone is welcome and can join up with the group anywhere along the way. __________________

Everyone:
I have made a hotel reservation for Bruce & I in Asheville, NC where we will be stopping on our way down to Charleston, SC.
Check in: Sat. April 9, 2011 Check out: Tues. April 12, 2011
This allows 2 days at Biltmore Estate. We may only spend 1 day, but this guarantees we will have a room if we decide to visit Biltmore 2 days. Changes can be made later.
Holiday Inn, Asheville-Biltmore West 435 Smokey Park Hwy. Asheville, NC 28806 Front Desk: 1-800-678-2161
I made our reservations via the internet.
*We stayed here during our visit to Biltmore Estate in April 2009.

Here is the hotel info for our stay in Charleston.
Hampton Inn Charleston/Mt. Pleasant-Patriot's Point 255 Sessions Way Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464 Ph: 843-881-3300
Arrival: Mon. April 11, 2011 Departure: Sat. April 16, 2011
**I know our hotel for Asheville, NC says departing on Tuesday, April 12. But we may spend just 1 day at Biltmore Estate instead of 2 days. Given that Savannah, GA is only 107 miles from Charleston, SC I thought we might take a day trip to Savannah. Just a thought. If you guys want to spend 2 days at Biltmore & skip Savannah, then we can do that.
I will post this info on the XLR-Net later in the week.

Biltmore visit information
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I spoke with Renee' from Biltmore Group Services today, and she has our visit all arranged. We will have special parking for both days, a private group tour of the house on Sunday afternoon after the house closes to the public, a group picture of the cars on Monday morning before the gates open to the public and two day tickets for the house and grounds. The cost per person for this package is $50.00 (which is cheaper than a one day general admission ticket). Cubby or myself will be purchasing the tickets for the entire group at one time (per Biltmore's policy), either Saturday afternoon when we get to Asheville, or Sunday morning @ Biltmore Estate's Admission's Office. You will need to pay either of us in cash for your tickets. We will go ahead and purchase the tickets for any of you that may be arriving later on Sunday or Monday; just let us know how many tickets you will need. You can leave the grounds and return as many times as you like, just make sure you have your tickets with you (if you leave, you may not be able to park in the special parking area when you return). This can be nice for anyone that wants to go back to the hotel during the day. __________________
