Now that the sun is out and the XLR's are too - I expect this forum will begin to record all of the adventures you all take for 2011. I have already read and seen the great pictures from the Asheville trip ..... and a picture of 2 that others have posted from their quick trips. This will not be a summer of car travel for us - we expect to spend the rest of Spring and most of the summer home with family rocking a new addition. We are though, leaving on our first ever cruise in a few days .... just a week .... and as close as the Mexican Riviera .... I have to say that I thought packing for the Rendezvous was tedious because I had so little space, it is the opposite for a cruise ... unlimited baggage for 7 days ! Lola will take a well-deserved break and wait for me in the garage - I'm afraid she is probably getting arthritis from lack of excercise ... trips to the store are not that far away - 'Looking forward to hearing what you guys are up to, or going to be doing ... How about autocross with the top down (Sun 17 Apr 11). Other than it was super windy and cold as sin in the morning when I had to work the track and I only got four runs at the course, it was a blast. Knocked 10 seconds off my time in the four runs, spun once, and since they created a special category for the V meet participants - I trophied in second behind a CTS-V who's been doing this for 4 years!!!! See full video here www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzVDGmEk-Xk (well not full video, my run starts at 2:17)

Indy was HOT! Yeah, finally some weather I like. Top down as soon as we hit the city and all the way home. Seats were great - 100 yards from the start/finish line, 20 rows up, in the shade all day, sat directly across from Ryan Hunter-Ray's pits. Problem was when we got there, it took us a while to figure out exactly where our (there were 4 of us) seats were and when we did, there was only room for two to sit down and nobody wanted to scoot down either way to give us room. The ushers said be adult. So I did, I took a seat and lit a cigar - puffing smoke till I couldn't see. That made room for three. Then I interjected myself into the couple on the upwind side's conversation at every breathe they took (hell I was beginning to annoy myself), but they finally gave us enough room so the four of us could squish together. Race was just O.K. till the last 12 laps, then it got real exciting! Pics: 100th Anniversary A.J. Foyt driving the Pace Car The eventual winner (blurred, heading for the checkered Flag) Danica's pit after leading a few laps Dixon lead the most laps (red Target car) Getting back to the highway afterward was a long stop and go wait. Got lots of compliments on the XLR (even though it was filthy after the long drive there). Spectators took pictures, walked up to ask questions, and gawked. Lotta fun.

Niiiiiiiiiiice that you got to take a trip to Indy .... Your pictures are great! Nice to see that someone is getting out and about ... Our cruise was really nice - Ray loved it .... I still prefer road trips and am still not happy that we will not be joining in with all the fun that is going to happen in Bowling Green in July. Just have to say this since I am from a pretty much non-smoking state .... Cigar smoke ... ugh .... especially in a place where others can't escape it .... I'm afraid people here are pretty confrontive with smoker's in general .... I am surprised that there wasn't a fight in the stands (BTW - I was a smoker for over 20 years ... ex-smoker are the WORST!) ;D
